  • An evening of Illusion
Your evening with Declan Wong - Illusionist begins with a complimentary welcome glass of New Zealand wine (or non alcoholic beverage) and the sharing of a plate of his famous dumplings with a divine special sauce. It's time to break the ice so this is a perfect opportunity to mix with other guests (maximum 6 in a group) and enjoy relaxing after your busy day in Queenstown. We'll follow with two more of Declan's chinese dishes, learned at his father's New York restaurants and including dishes not served in NZ restaurants. We'll serve another glass of divine wine should you wish, to accompany the food. ** Food and wine is vegan-friendly** And now the magic begins! Declan will wow you with an up-close and personal illusion show – demonstrating an art that he has performed on stage and in movies. After his performance he will move on to close-up sleight of hand, interacting with you and encouraging you to watch as closely as you like! We guarantee you'll be amazed, wowed and perplexed! Note: this experience is all about magic and the charge is for the Illusion show. However we invite you to enjoy complimentary food and wine with us, your hosts. Children under 8 years are welcome to accompany you at no cost.

  • The Contemporary Jeweller
Studio 42’s 3-hour Jewellery Class is a creative adventure where students learn the skills to design and create a piece of silver jewellery from scratch. It’s a hands-on class full of learning, laughing and producing something exceptional to take away. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? To start, you will do a quick trial project to get comfortable with the tools and equipment, covering techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and polishing. With your new skills, you will then have the freedom to design and develop a piece of silver jewellery of your choice. Depending on your designs, you may also incorporate disc cutting, roller printing, doming, texturing and blackening the metal; all skills that your instructor Jess will be there to advise you on. WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR? Every skill level is welcome to join this 3-hour class. From complete beginners to seasoned pros, everyone can make Studio 42 their own. If you do have previous jewellery making skills, you are more than welcome to work independently at your level. This 3-hour class is one of Queenstown’s “must-do” experiences and a great rainy-day option for solo travellers, couples or the whole family!

  • Vogel Street Walk
We'll meet in front of 76 Vogel Street (Vogel Street Kitchen), in the heart of Dunedin's warehouse precinct. After a health and safety briefing, I'll provide some historical context, then walk you through the transformation which is taking place here. You'll pass through funky public spaces and hear the backstories of several repurposed buildings. Please note that, due to sensitivity regarding Covid19, we will not enter any buildings, and we must maintain some physical distancing during our walk. That said, we may encounter some of the neighbourhood's heroes during the walk, and I'll share why I think Vogel Street is an exemplar of urban renewal. Other things to note We are obliged to wear facemasks on the walk and keep some distance between ourselves and others. Your guide will explain at the start of the walk. These measures are taken to mitigate any threats associated with COVID19.
