What you'll do

Release the shorelines, hoist the sail, steer the boat, navigate and maneuver - or simply sit back and admire the majestic panorama of Alpine peaks. How active or passive you want to be, is up to you, and nobody is judging you. We're sailing on the magnificent Lake Lucerne - it doesn't get much better than that.

Experienced sailors and absolute first-timers are equally welcome. And I'm equally happy to operate the boat myself, or guide you gently so you can develop and safely practice your sea-skills.

Our starting point is Marina Lützelau on the North shore of the lake. After a short safety briefing, we release the shorelines and set sail across the lake to the foot of the dramatic Bürgenstock, towering 700m (2300ft) above us. Care for a dip in the cool water? This could be our refreshing swimming stop. Hungry? we will savour fresh specialities from a local cheese factory and neighbouring farms.

We continue towards Weggis, a serene, 900-year-old village on the slopes of Mount Rigi. Sailing gives us unique views of the village, often termed the 'Riviera' of central Switzerland. Our trip ends back where we started, at the Marina Lützelau.

For your peace of mind:
I've never seen anyone feeling sea-sick on the lake, not even those who suffer at sea.
The cockpit is safe: accidentally falling overboard is impossible.
Cancellation due to rain includes a full refund.
Other things to note
Boat etiquette: if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right. Sailing in the rain is no fun, and unsafe, so in case of unfavourable forecast 24h in advance I will cancel with a full refund.

Living on the North shore of Lake Lucerne since 2008, I go sailing often on my little boat - with or without guests - because I love it. As soon as I release the shorelines and set sail, nothing in the world matters except the wind, the waves and the crew.

I'm also a savvy certified skipper with more than 12,000 nautical miles sailed in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans. Having traveled and worked in more than 80 countries, I realize it's not Where I am or What I do there, but rather Who I am with that makes it so enriching and worthwhile.

Where you'll be

Marina Lützelau is our starting point. We will sail the West basin of Lake Lucerne and will have unique, unobstructed views of the surrounding villages and majestic Alpine peaks.

As Hannah wrote in her review: "Lake Lucerne is beautiful from the shore but experiencing it by boat is another level of breathtaking" - so make sure your camera is ready and fully charged.

In addition to natural beauty, the area is rich with Swiss history and culture.

I gave the sailing trip to my parents as a surprise present and they really enjoyed it. Tomer was very knowledgeable, taught us a lot about sailing and the surrounding area. Definitely recommend doing this tour if you have the chance!

I made a last minute request and Tomer managed to schedule it - later I find out, just for me. It was beautiful weather and nice revision of sailing knowledge. I enjoyed the cheese, apple and salami snacks he prepared, refreshing water with nana leaves from his garden. He introduced me some local facts. We exchanged some stories. It was such a pleasant afternoon with such good company. Definitely recommend!

Truly amazing experience on the “Swiss Riviera”. Tomer went out of his way to accommodate us and taught us so much, all while being kind, entertaining and attentive. We tried local apples, sausage and cheeses, swam in the lake and even briefly learned how to sail! Met great people and fell in love with the area. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come again!

This was my first sailing experience and it could not have been better. It was so much fun, insightful & relaxing. Tomer is a very experienced as well as knowledgeable sailor, that explains the art of sailing in an easy and practical way. Furthermore, on board you are super cared for with local specialties. And you are encouraged to try and actively participate in sailing the ship - which was a fabulous feeling to be able to steer a ship :) … personal highlight was the stop to swim in the middle of the lake! Just an amazing and a must try experience!

Absolute Empfehlung!
