What you'll do

We meet at a local neighborhood just outside of downtown Seattle - Ballard. I will expose you to a local Seattle area known for great shops, cafes, and restaurants. You will be provided all the materials to learn your first sketch lesson (ink pens, sketch pads, and watercolor kits - included in price). The tour is 90 minutes (1 location) and is a tour for maximum 6 people. We will meet at the historic Hatties Hat (Ballard's last stand since 1904). You are asked to order at least 1 amazing breakfast item for our use of the space (separate cost paid by guest). The space is covered outdoors.

For customized tours, we visit 1-2 more cafes, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and/or wineries where you will finish your sketch. These tours encompass walking the area and learning more about Seattle history and historical facts about the area we are touring.

Please contact Melanie if you would like to consider a custom tour for yourself or group.

Other things to note:
You need NO previous art or sketch experience. This is a fun experience and sketching is a way to really observe and capture your experiences. Generally the minimum age of 14 years old is best suited for this experience.

I enjoy sharing local history and teaching travel sketching skills at local food and beverage spots. Part of the fun is experiencing the area we sketch in, as well as, learn about great restaurants and cafes, local history, and architectural styles.
