What you'll do

We will meet Frisky the Burren feral goat at the animal paddocks and learn how she was rescued on the high Burren hills by a farmer shortly after birth. You will take turns leading Frisky through the 5 different Burren habitats; Hazel and Ash woodland, shattered limestone pavement, along the Wild Orchid Meadow and past the magical
Disappearing Lake that drains every 11 hours! We will watch which seasonal wild herbs Frisky is sampling and attempt to identify them. Get a photo with Frisky! We will then learn about the herbal remedies our ancestors used when living off the land and simple recipes for common ailments that can be made from garden herbs. When we reach the Gypsy Wagon shelter you will be refreshed with some home made Elderflower Cordial. At the end of the walk you will make your own wild hen tea bag . You can then relax in the café with our Burren Food Trail signature dish; Cheese, hazelnut and spinach savoury scone, with Burren Gold wild garlic and nettle cheese, a seaweed salad garnish and home made relish. You can pick a freshly made home cooked dessert and enjoy with tea/coffee or hot chocolate.
