What you'll do

Walkthrough Johannesburg and feel the hustle and bustle of the people, lifestyle and culture of the city. Visit Nelson Mandela's Law firm and get a 360 degree view of the city at the Top of Africa, in the Carlton Centre.

Start at Museum Africa, in Newtown, then move on to the Workers Museum, the last surviving municipal compound for African men in Johannesburg. Continue to Chancellor House, where Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo set up South Africa’s first black-owned law firm.

Go to Main Street, which has some of the best old buildings in the city. Main Street will lead you to Gandhi Square, a busy urban hub of commercial and retail activity. From there, move on to the Top of Africa, inside the tallest skyscraper on the continent. After Carlton, take local transport to Maboneng, an arts neighborhood, for a Braii lunch (vegan, vegetarian friendly).

Sipho is very dedicated to One Day Africa and works a lot to make the experience enjoyable for the guests! The tour was a great introduction to Joburg's history and city center. I do recommend checking their other experiences too!

Brilliant young people who are trying to make a better future for them and their country. It was an honour meeting them and listening to their personal experience as locals living in SA, and of course learning about the history of the city. I recommend it very much :)

My experience with Tebogo visiting the historic heart of Johannesburg was just great. He is passionated about his city and make you feel in a few hours the complexity and profound history of Johannesburg. I profoundly recommand this experience, this is so far the Best Tour I had in a foreign city.

We couldn't tell that Tebogo had to guide back to back tours today. He was thorough, kind, and considerate. His knowledge of history, combined with his perspective on the current situation in South Africa was appreciated. Tebogo is a lovely young man, who has the ability to engage with everyone he meets.

We really enjoyed our tour with Rambo! He was a wonderful tour guide - knowledgeable, considerate, and just really fun company. He showed us the most interesting parts of Joburg, talked to us about historic events as well as his personal experiences. Would recommend!

Good to kickstart you trip in Joburg! We appreciated the guided tour in the city. As we didn’t know anything about Johannesburg it was good to have someone to walk around with us. Our local guide was very friendly and warm. He organized a typical braii meal at the end of the tour. We felt safe all the way even in some areas we would have definitely avoided if alone.
