*Hear about the island's long history.
* Learn about the peak of the Minoan culture in 1700 B.C.
*Hear about the first palace of Knossos, erected shortly after the Pyramids of Egypt and the Stonehenge, and how the happy life of Knossos residents came to an abrupt end in 1450 B.C. when a catastrophic earthquake destroyed the palace.
*Delve into the mythology of Minoan culture, and hear about the elaborate labyrinth built to contain the Queen’s son, the half-man half-bull monster called Minotaur.
*Hear the story of Sir Arthur Evans, a British archaeologist who excavated and studied the Palace of Knossos for more than 30 years so that today's guests can appreciate the grandeur and complexity of the palace and get a glimpse of the most important palace of the Minoans, Europe’s first advanced and highly sophisticated culture.
After Knossos, you will have a guided tour of Heraklion's Archaeological Museum, where the Minoan antiquities are kept.

Eleni is extremely knowledgeable and goes out of her way to make the experience engaging. She’s extremely eloquent and gave me recommendations beyond the palace and museum as I was traveling to Crete on my own!

With Eleni we’ve learned a lot about Knossos. I would definitely recommend this experience. We regret that we couldn’t join the part in the archeological museum. We didn’t have enought time for the whole trip. Eleni’s explanation had good structure and was really easy and enjoy to follow. We are glad that we had a chance to learn from her.

We had a fabulous tour with Eleni around the Palace of Knossos, the museum and a short tour of the inner city of Heraklion. She was very knowledgeable, engaged, patient and calm. There were only two of us and she answered all of our questions & took photos for us. We met her at the Archaeological museum after the Palace tour which had some beautiful treasures collected from all over Crete. Very fascinating and insightful. Highly recommended and you won’t regret it!

Eleni made our time at Knossos Palace really worth while. She has a deep knowledge of the structure, and did such a great job of making such an ancient place come alive. Highly recommend.

Expect a long waiting time at the museum! We learned a lot about the Knossos Palace and the history behind it. But the price per person is a bit higher than other historic tours I have tried.
