Old-growth trees tower overhead; the wolf dogs will lead you around their new open run, while our guide talks about wolves' habitat, behavior, & the myths and misconceptions surrounding this apex predator. Our new photo area will allow us to pause for photos and rest with the wolves. When we return to the refuge, you will see a few more beautiful animals, including sloths, cougars, foxes, and more! Ashley started with Predators of the Heart in 1998. Traveling with her father Dave from age 12 to 17. She had to switch to booking all of his programs from 17-29 years old. Ashley arranged accommodations, pricing, made cold calls to schools, churches and fairs, handled all correspondence only being able to travel on occasion. She got married at 20 years old, Ashley and her husband Aaron donated countless hours helping build enclosures, bottle feeding wolf pups, feed animals while Dave was on the road she helped in raising and caring for many animals. But her passion is having the opportunity to teach hundreds of people about how every animals plays a vital role in the web of life.

Worth every penny! It was a once in a lifetime chance for us to get up close and personal with the wolves. We also got to learn more about their lifestyles and behaviors, as well as the organization’s efforts in conservation.

This place really knows their stuff! The animals are all well cared for, and the handlers are very considerate of the animal’s boundaries. Some animals prefer Not to be visited or observed, and the handlers/guides always gave those particular ones the space they needed. Even the wolves, who were happy to have their ruffs massaged, always had the option to excuse themselves to another enclosure. The exotic animals who were not to be touched were all thoroughly introduced, and I really enjoyed watching Bean the porcupine eat a banana. After much walking and seeing animals and interacting with the wolves, we got to warm up with hot drinks and some snacks in the gift shop (Which is also home to a chirpy pair of marmosets). I would recommend anytime! It was well worth the price to take my girlfriend somewhere great for our anniversary, and all the profits go to keeping the sanctuary afloat.

Unparalleled experience, being lucky enough to gaze into the eyes of wolves with no barrier. Felt safe the whole time in this otherworldly place. I wish I could go back every day. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and animals!

Once in a lifetime kind of experience! We got to interact with the wolves and learn about their other rescue animals. We learned that this is the wolves’ mating season which is why they were a bit antsy but the chest rubs seemed to work like magic on some! All-in-all it’s totally worth every penny once you realize that you are helping the facility grow and maintain a safe environment for the wolves (from humans ofcourse!) :)
