A great host and an excellent experience! We learned a lot about truffles and this interesting business. Johann engaged every guest into the conversation and we felt very welcomed. The time flew away! Delicious snacks and champagne together with an amazing Provence sunset completed this highly recommended tour.

We can’t say enough great things about our experience with Johann and Jean Marc truffle hunting in Provence. The introductory education was needed for the information that came as we went on the hunt. We were with an international English speaking group. Johann gave us all the necessary skills to walk along with the dogs and actually dig up truffles! After the exciting field time we returned to his debriefing area and sampled truffles in so many different ways. I won’t spoil all the surprises but my bag is full of items that we will enjoy when we return home and relive our experience.

This is a “must do” when you are in the area in late fall. It was such a fun time. Johann and Jean-Marc were super hosts. They are great hosts, patient and answered every question. Fun interaction and conversation. We were even given the chance to help dig up a truffle or two. After the “hunt” we were treated to a champagne and truffle tasting. Lots of different truffle sampling and endless champagne. We did not need lunch after the tour. Book this fun experience!

I gave this experience 5-stars, but really it should be 5-stars+++ -- at least! This was easily one of the very best Airbnb Experiences I've ever done. Johann had tremendous expertise about truffles, and was super-engaging host with tons of great stories and jokes. And of course the dogs (turns out pigs aren't used in truffle hunting anymore!) were very friendly and simply adorable. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough -- it is absolutely a must-do if you are in Provence!

I was not a huge fan of truffles but decided to go for this experience because (1) dogs! and (2) I wanted to spend a nice day in the countryside. Boy was I blown away. Not only did we have a magical morning where we had so much fun, time just flew by, I ended up leaving with a much deeper appreciation for truffles. Best things - Johann with his immense knowledge on the topic and his wicked sense of humour, the truffle tasting (decadent), the lovely guests whom we had such fun and great conversations with, and the MVPs - the adorable dogs! By far the best Airbnb experience I’ve been on.

A lovely experience-highly recommended!!! 3 fyi's and 1 tip: Magical. Our five-year-old is already asking to go back to find more truffles. Thoughtful. I'm lactose intolerant and Johann was so kind as to make alternative snacks for me, really sweet and thoughtful of him! Structured and you don't walk far at all (though on bumpy soil). The experience is broken up into 3 parts - 1/ outdoor school where you sit and listen to Johann share the history of truffles 2/ hunting for truffles with Johann, his friend and their 3 dogs 3/ eating truffle snacks and drinking champagne. PRO TIP. If you come in November like we did, bring warm clothes for the cold and wind!
