What you'll do

Are you looking for something new to try or always wondered what it would be like to be a Cirque du Soliel performer on Aerial Silks? Maybe you’re a practicing aerialist who wants to learn some new skills while travelling? This is for you!
This exclusive AirBNB Aerial Silks class is for one hour. It begins with a 15 minute warm-up and conditioning followed by 40 minutes of instruction and a 5 minute cool down. The class will cater to the abilities of participants .
For beginners this is an intense work out. We work at your own pace and your ability. You should be comfortable going upside down. It is recommended that you wear gym attire with long sleeves and long pants that are tightly fitted around the ankles and wrists. A body suit or one piece swim suit worn under your gym attire will also protect the skin on your waist.
Other things to note
During COVID, we will be providing lessons out of doors in North Vancouver so the activity will be weather permitting. If it rains we will reschedule or refund. Address provided upon completion of booking.
Sessions modified based on your goals, ability and previous experience if applicable.

I have been teaching Aerial Silks for 15 years. I wrote a series of Aerial Silks Instruction Manuals and developed an Aerial Silks program that has been adopted by Circus Schools world wide. I am the Artistic Director of Circus Aerials. We have performed across Canada. I love introducing this amazing physical workout and form of artistic expression to new students as well as working with advanced students with whom we can share our skills. I am a National Coaching of Canada Program Level 2 Gymnastics and Trampoline Coach.

Where you'll be

During the Summer we are offering silks on an outdoor rig in North Vancouver, BC - weather permitting. Address will be provided.
The classes usually take place at the West Vancouver Recreation Centre at 2121 Marine Drive in West Vancouver, BC. This is a gorgeous gym that has air conditioning in summer and is heated in the winter. Our silks are 30 feet high (10 metres).
We do need to book the gym so times depend on when it is available.

This class was a blast!! Cori is so nice and sweet. She is very experienced and tailors an experience to your level. We had no prior experience and made it off the ground. Overall a fun experience!!

Her personality is as graceful as her skill set. Cori is an awesome teacher very patient and helpful. It was super fun be prepared for some tender abs the following couple days lol

Highly recommend! My wife and I have never done silks before, but had always wanted to try. We got both a good workout and had a lot of fun with this. My wife even did a flip without any previous experience! This was a great beginner class and we are looking to go back and continue our learning. Cori seemed to have the experience to teach advanced lessons. General Notes: - Good COVID policies - Felt safe in the lesson - They have a cute dog. (Cori said she could keep inside if we didn't like dogs) - Very accommodating to our skill level. Didn't push us to do something uncomfortable.

I have been taking silks classes with Cori on and off for over 10 years. I'm so glad shes found a way to continue offering them during the Covid crisis, and having the classes outside in the trees is beautiful!! Its super fun, and great exercise! Cori is a very experienced instructor. She prioritizes safety, and effectively tailors each class to the level you're at. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun way to get a workout!

I highly recommend taking aerial silks with Cori. She is very experienced and friendly, and I always felt 100% safe. She was able to tailor the experience for me as a complete beginner, and I was surprised by how much I was able to do on the silks by the end of the class. I also left with some great photos. She explains everything really well and she will make sure that you're always comfortable! You can tell she's a very experienced teacher. It was so much fun and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

This was an amazing experience. I have taken silks classes before and wanted to introduce my friends to silks. We all loved it! We felt very safe the entire time (in terms of both: hanging upside down on the silks and the COVID situation). The class was in a beautiful large backyard under huge trees. Cori has a wealth of experience in performing on silks as well as teaching skills). She quickly evaluated the level of skill that all of us possessed and offered a class that was engaging and fun for everyone. This is such a unique and special experience learning silks in a safe, fun and beautiful environment.

What to bring

There is a water fountain in the gym but I suggest you bring your own water bottle

Wear long pants that fit tightly around the ankle. (Men might want to wear shorts over these.
