Our tasty adventure starts in the heart of Chinatown with Dim Sum. Ready to take on the day, we check out the fortune cookie factory and take a peek inside! Next, we stroll down the street of the infamous 10-cent haircut and learn how sailors journeyed here in hopes of the American dream.
But wait, the adventure doesn’t stop there! Next, we’ll check out the oldest bakery in Chinatown, a church that survived the 1906 earthquake, the oldest temples in the USA, all while sipping some delicious bubble tea.
As we approach our final hour, we head to a local tea shop and learn about the role of tea in traditional Chinese medicine with a 30-minute tasting.
Feeling warm, we head to our last stop to learn about the Gold Rush, in the exact spot it all started! Here we taste a local pork roll from one of the oldest restaurants in town.
We cannot run on Mon/Tues.

I have always had a passion for cooking, trying new foods, and discovering new sites and tastes on a good food tour. That love inspired me to create my own food experience company called Stretchy Pants!

Things to note:
*This tour can be hosted by Kara (me) or one of my other well-trained co-hosts.
*Feel free to contact me with any questions or special requests.
*COVID may change our route, but we will always eat the same amount!

But that's not all... Stretchy Pants has other walks on Airbnb, so keep an eye out! Breakfast & The Painted Ladies Food Walk & North Beach Food Walk: Beer & Pizza.

So awesome! This tour is fantastic; a great mix of food and history. Julie was our host; she was warm and very knowledgeable. She created a great experience! All the food selections were delicious; she even made alternatives available as I don't eat much meat. I left the experience full;-) For me, the highlight was the tea tasting! It was so much fun and the teas were fantastic! It was a unique experience and definitely were it. Absolutely five stars!

Excellent experience! A great mix of to-go dim sum, teas, history, and walking. There was plenty of food also, which isn’t always the case on tasting tours. Our guide, Julie, was great - very friendly, knowledgeable and informative! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a casual fun food and tea tour of Chinatown.

I highly recommend this tour, don't hesitate one second and book it! You will taste a lot of different food (A lot! Arrive with an empty belly), walk around the amazing Chinatown and hear a lot of interesting facts on that particular part of the city. Julie was our guide and she was dynamic and fun!

This food tour was a good way to experience Chinatown. The restaurants and food we tried were tasty and we got a better feel for the area than we would have on our own. However, given the hefty price tag ($85per person) the tour left something to be desired. The pacing was a struggle and although our tour guide was very nice and accommodating, the tour felt like it lacked authenticity. It was from an outsider's perspective of the neighborhood.
