It was an amazing experience. Both Hugo and Gabriel had tons of knowledge and it shows they put a lot of effort towards the entire experience. Grandmas food was also amazing! It’s a great way to end the tour with the amazing food paired with the pulque and other tastings. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an insightful and amazing experience

Hugo & Gabriel have deep knowledge of the history of the peoples of Mexico and do an amazing job of placing the history of Teotihuacan in relationship with each time period it’s existed. I came a way with a sense of how the people thought about the world, how they utilized resources, and how their views and practices continue into the present. At the end of the tour we ate a wonderful meal prepared by his abuela y madre, and then we got to drink beverages prepared from the harvest of his family’s maguey plants. What stood out most to me was how well thought out each part of the tour was to ensure our maximum comfort including little touches like organizing us to stand in the shade when he would explain place, giving us tips for how to defend safely the stairs, and demonstrating how we might get ripped off when buying souvenirs or art.

One of the best tours you'll ever do! Hugo and Gabriel are so knowledgeable about Tiotihuacan and have designed the ultimate experience. The grandma's Mole and dining experience and all the awesome alcohol tasting at their family home is truly one of a kind. Don't miss out on this experience when you come to Mexico City!

Absolutely amazing, beginning to start! Meeting location was accessible via Uber and very easy to find. The group consisted of about 12 plus Hugo and Gabriel. We boarded a very nice chartered mini bus; driver was very safe the whole time (even when the roads themselves weren’t great) and we made our way out of CDMX. We stopped at a gas station with clean pay-to-use toilets (bring coins!) and then headed to the pyramids. First we stopped at a house believed to belong to ancient wealthy family. The murals there are literally thousands of years old!! Hugo and Gabriel gave the group the option to split into English and Spanish speaking tour groups; the guys have great English fluency and are easy to understand. I went with the Spanish tour (less people lol) and had an amazing time learning the history of the people who built the pyramids and surrounding cities. These guys know their stuff 10000% and we’re able to answer all questions. They bring along an iPad to show pictures/maps that are relevant to the history they teach you. Lunch at grandmas was truly next level. They had live musicians in the courtyard next to the dining area. The guys were great in asking about allergies and dietary restrictions at the start of the morning. We were served very generous portions of green and brown mole, rice & beans. They had cold beer, lemonade and soda to choose from. We had yummy chips and salsa too! After dinner, Hugo and Gabriel asked the group if there were any folks who didn’t drink alcohol (they were given choice of tea or coffee) but for the rest of us, we were given four tasters of pulque and other local liquors. The guys explained the growth and distillation process which was really cool to learn about. The ride home was in the same comfy mini-bus. I honestly cannot recommend this experience enough!! Thank you soooo much Hugo, Gabriel and their grandma for the wonderful experience and hospitality!

I booked this tour on the last day of a two week stay in Mexico City and it was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Hugo and Gabriel are great hosts, they are super friendly and have so much knowledge to share about the local area and culture. Getting to eat at their abuela's house was amazing, and the pulque they make is fantastic. They went above and beyond to make sure each guest enjoyed the experience. I'll definitely book another tour with them next time I'm in town. If you're wanting a great day trip to see the pyramids and learn from a local, book this trip!
