Coming from a farming background I remember well how everything on the farm was home produced. From milking the cows after school to baking mince pies at Christmas, I was introduced to cooking from a very early age, and the passion has stayed with me. I have run a successful cafe and cookery school for many years. Being featured in The Bridgestone Guide, New York Times and on a many overseas websites brings a steady stream of tourists to my cafe and classes. As a restaurant owner for 30 years I know what a winning dish is and this is definitely one.
This particular Irish stew recipe I learnt from my grandmother.
I use the finest locally produced lamb and all the cooking is done in accordance with the highest food safety standards.
I am happy to do make a vegetarian version also just let me know in advance.

This was a lovely class instructed by a most gracious host. Kate provided us a unique experience for a special treat while on our honeymoon. Very excited to try these recipes when we return home!!

The experience was really great. Kate gave us tips on how the right kind of meat and baking. I really enjoyed making the scones which was something that was spur of the moment we decided to do. The only downside was we had to do the cooking at Kate's cafe I'm sure the experience would have been even more amazing if we could have it at Kate's home. The cafe was a little small to move around in, I reccomend if you can to do it at kates place if it works. As we were not familiar with the territory and bus schedule we decided to go to Kate's cafe. I do highly recommend taking the cooking class the lamb stew was so light and filled us up I wished I could have eaten more. Thank you so much Kate for the amazing food !!

Cooking with Kate is a wildly fun experience. We were a party of four and within five minutes we were comfortable with Kate, making food and having lots of fun.

I cannot say enough good things about Kate!! I wish I could keep coming back to take cooking classes from her and just to hang out in her beautiful home and garden. I had some issues with my GPS which made me late, so when I called for help she was able to guide me to her house. The other guests were so fun and we ended up chatting in her kitchen for at least an hour after the food was done. Kate was funny, generous and so accommodating. She answered all of our questions and I even got to visit her cafe a few days later and try some of her other great food. I hope to keep in touch with her and hope my cooking turns out as good as it did with her!

This was my most favourite experience of the whole vacation! Kate is a sweetheart, bubbly with that sweet Irish charm. The group was funny and entertaining too! And the food was delicious. The recipe was the perfect idea to bring back to Canada! Thank you Kate!

What a great experience! Had a blast cooking under Kate's direction. The stew turned out delicious, as did the scones and brown bread - everything we cooked! But this was about more than the food. We had fun joking around in her kitchen, picking herbs in her yard, and more. Highly recommend!
