What you'll do

After a journey of more than 8km in the middle of the jungle, we will immerse ourselves in a cave and underground river system for a guided exploration, crossing the most surreal rock formations.
Helmets well screwed on the head, and water shoes on, we will let our lights pierce the darkness and silence to make way for a world as ancient as magical.

During the first part of the visit, which is mainly conducted walking and does not require any specific swimming level, you will understand the deep relationships that link the Mayan civilization and the jungle to the majestic Cenotes. In the last part, we will have the opportunity to swim, relax and snorkel in a fantastic and out of this world natural pool.

We will recover from our emotions and share around a meal composed of local specialties cooked in the jungle on a fire pit.

Before taking the road towards the city, towards its lights and its incessant noise, a quick siesta in a hammock will mark the end of our experience in the Jungle of the Yucatán peninsula and the secret of its underground world.

Other important  thing to know : this activity is NOT affected by rain or general bad weather !!

Hello everyone, I’m Guilhem. I moved to Mexico in 2013 after traveling and living in more than 13 countries. Very quickly, I fell in love with the caves, their peace, the story they tell and their incredible importance for the jungle and the Mayan civilization, which is also fabulous. I am a passionate person who did everything to work and live from his passion. I created my company "Secret Footsteps" to continue transmitting the hidden beauty of the Maya underground world, and I will never get tired of it!

The beauty of this cave Is etched into my memory forever. It would have been beautiful by itself, but our guide went above and beyond with his passionate knowledge of Mayan and geological history and tied it all together with a fantastic story. The trip culminated in a swim in a massive underground cenote deep in the cave. When we exited we had one of the most amazing meals I’ve had in Mexico served to us. Would recommend this trip to literally anyone, and I have been to everyone I meet before I leave Mexico!

What an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Guilheem, was so helpful and informative. You can tell of his passion and love for the cenote and the surrounding area. The adventure was a walk through the shallow waters of the cenote. Stopping for some photo shots and towards the end of our travels, an amazing swimming experience. The terrain was a little challenging but not hard to maneuver. After we were treated to a delicious meal. This is something you don’t want to miss!

This experience was amazing! Guilem was phenomenal; you could feel his passion for the Cenotes and the ancient people who built their lives and civilization around these amazing geological features. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Yucatan.

A truly unforgettable and brilliant experience. This ancient cenote is absolutely stunning, and the journey will make your imagination run wild. The tour guide, Guilhem, has an immense respect and passion for the cenote and the legacy of the Mayan culture. The ancient history, ecological information, and scientific explanations he provided to us on this fantastic journey were exceedingly valuable. He's incredibly caring about all of the guests, and prioritises everyone’s safety and comfort. After the trip, we reviewed the photos and videos and were completely blown away. The lighting techniques he uses for the photo shoots throughout the tour are ingenious and very effective. You'll be left with fantastic memories and photographs to show your family and friends. After the tour, we were offered a delicious buffet of traditional Mexican food in the beautiful shaded natural surroundings, just a few steps from the cenote. The cuisine was the best I've tasted in Playa Del Carmen so far. Whether you're alone, or in a group: if you want memories of an experience that will last you a lifetime, be sure to take this tour with Guilhem.
