Lebo is the guide you need for that tour! Very engaging, committed, friendly but also serious about what he does, you will learn a lot from that experience! Soweto definitely has a lot to show and tell and you can't visit Joburg without getting to understand what role Soweto has to play in it. Ask Lebo, he'll tell you ;)

Our tour through Soweto was an experience that we would't want to have missed. Our tourguide Lebo (aka Rambo) is a really friendly guy that is from Soweto and well connected within the community there. He knew a lot about the history of Soweto and the famous people who lived there but besides other tours he also tried to explain and show us the current situation of the people living in Soweto. We met a lot of locals and were able to talk, have dinner and even drink a beer with them which was really an eye-opener for us. Most of the people we talked to were really friendly, interessted and it's definetly worth it to get to know them and learn about their stories. We would recommend this tour for everyone who wants to learn more about the difficulties South African society is facing and about the huge gap between living standards in this country.
