What you'll do

On this tour we can social distance and be outdoors. We can easily maintain a safe distance between riders while traveling between sites and on stops. Bikes are sanitized between riders.

We ride electric bikes, these are fat-tire RadPower Mini’s and step-thru Mini's, they are accessible for almost all riders. Although the electric motor helps a lot with Seattle’s hills, you do have to pedal. At times, it can be the exercise equivalent of a brisk walk and on other points along the route it’s a pleasant stroll. Older riders may find the bikes and terrain a challenge. If you are an active bike rider you will have no problems with the electric bike. A cargo bike available upon request--it is set up to take a younger passenger on the back and there's a childseat.

First stop is at the Olympic Mountains and Sound Viewpoint, here there's a great overview of the waterway and the geology of Seattle. Typically we travel through the Ballard Locks and visit the fish ladder. Other options include the Fremont Troll, Gasworks Park, and Fishermen's Terminal. There are a few options, such as a ride around Discovery Park and I like to customize the routes whenever possible.
Other things to note
First part of the tour is learning how to ride an ebike. There are bags on each bike for caring personal items. Wear bright colors to increase visibility. Sunglasses are also handy.

I’ve saved this experience on my wish list since 2019 but the chance to go on it finally happened for us this November. Despite the wintery winds and rain, we gave it a shot! Coming from a place where it is 88°F and sunny all year round and with David’s provision of winter accessories, the cold was bearable. David is deeply passionate and personable. He’s able to marry the two; rad bikes and exploring Seattle together very nicely. The rad bikes on its own was quite the experience. There’s some practise at the beginning and he will guide you on the intercom built into the helmet. David also shared with us his knowledge of Seattle’s fishing ports, the boats, the types salmon, its supply chain, the lakes in Seattle, how they are connected, the wildlife and native trees, and took us to the boat locks, the Troll, Gas Work Park and the some more ! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Seattle.

David, we absolutely loved our tour with you. The bikes are awesome and are very easy to use. You can use as much or as little effort as you want. If you are not "in-shape" don't worry, you can still do this tour with ease. David is an amazing tour guide and gives you a ton of helpful and insightful information about the Seattle area. He is a retired history teacher, so he really knows his stuff! Thanks again David!

David is the most knowledgeable and personable tour guide I have ever had. He is so amazing. I had such a good time and learned so much. The safety measures and tools that he provides are top-notch. Also, the bikes are next-level cool. They make the sightseeing experience that much better. I would definitely do this tour again. Stop strolling and book this amazing experience with David!

I highly recommend this enjoyable electric bike tour. David is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Additionally, he is very thorough and patient as he explains how to safely use the electric bikes. The tour gives an opportunity to discover Ballard’s industrial and fishing community. You also take ride down ballard’s charming neighborhood with cozy restaurants and shops. The last stop at Gas Works Park was the icing on the cake, as you get an amazing view of the Seattle skyline. It was a very pleasant electric bike journey through the Ballard neighborhood.

The bike ride was amazing. I wasv in awe of all the sights and scenery. The motorized bikes were fun and literally allowed us to see so much with literally minimal physical effort. We were taken to places I would otherwise never come across in my lifetime. Definitely worth every penny!
