What you'll do

An afternoon visiting the sanctuary is time well-spent and a terrific experience for you or for the whole family. Promised Land's rescued farm friends love visitors as much as you’ll love meeting them! You will be touched by their individual rescue stories and have your own unforgettable tales to tell about your time spent with them.

Set on a century farm, amidst the rolling hills and hardwood forests of rural Northumberland County, this 1-hour experience will bring you up-close and personal with our rescued farm family. Hands-on play and grooming sessions with our donkey Hummer and mini ponies Polly and Wally, plus any other animal who feels like getting some extra love.

NOTE: There are three dogs on the property, of all different sizes. They are very energetic and will bark and try to kiss you when you first arrive. This may scare some young children who are not used to being around dogs.

If you have allergies, please consider taking an antihistamine before your visit.

Please leave your own pets at home.

What a wonderful sanctuary! You can tell through interaction with the animals that they are really well loved and taken care of. The animals are approachable and happy. We especially loved the goat named Taco. Had some cuddles it was adorable.

What an awesome experience. Kat was an amazing host, and it was a great time with our little ones to meet new animal friends. We will have to come back to visit our new donkey friend hummer! Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting in the campbellford area.

Our group really enjoyed our experience at the animal sanctuary. The setting was beautiful. It was great to be able to interact with some of the animals, particularly for our young granddaughters who are four and five years old. Kat shared some interesting facts with us about the different animals. Cornelius the turkey was the star of the show! He greeted us in the parking lot and followed us about like a puppy dog!
