What you'll do

I will be taking my guests on a guided fishing/hiking tour of the Barton Creek Greenbelt. The Barton Creek Greenbelt is a hidden fishing gem so close to where so many of Airbnb guests are concentrated in Austin Texas. The creek system is crystal clear all year round. Even shallow enough to wade in. However, I will also provide a USA FlyCraft for individual (groups of 1) guests if they wish to stay out of the water. Along the way, my guests will see just how beautiful the Barton Creek Greenbelt is but from the water, instead of the trails. There are even places we will go where the trails cannot reach.
I plan on launching from the Lost-Creek entrance to either wade or drift downstream until we pass through the twin falls area. Before we depart, I plan on giving my guests a crash course on the area and the wildlife that inhabits it before departing.

Itinerary (you can substitute your start time if it is a different instance / but the best fishing is early)
6:00am – Meet at lost creek entrance
6:05am – Crash Course on fishing / wildlife
6:15am – start of the tour (phase 1)
6:35am – move to phase 2
7:05am – move to phase 3
7:45am – move to phase 4
8:30am – break at waterfall
8:40 - move to phase 5
9:00am - return

I was born and raised in Austin Texas. I know Barton Creek like the back of my hand, and I love people... and fishing. I believe that nothing brings people closer together than experiencing new and exciting things. I have been the lead on many recruiting trips for LSU Swim so I know how to show people a good time. BTW 15% of all earnings through this app will be donated on the 1st of each month.

I have studied the fish in the area since I was a young boy. I am very familiar with their feeding habits / reproductive cycle. We will catch plenty of fish!

I love looking out for birds too. I have done my own research on the birds that live in Barton Creek. My personal favorite is the Cardinal. I always think of my mom when I see them.

Where you'll be

Barton Creek Greenbelt is the crown jewel of Austin Texas. It is a well preserved area that allows local wildlife to flourish. Crystal clear water, cliffs, beautiful birds, deer, and hungry fish can be found there. There are plenty of friendly hikers / swimmers that take advantage of the area as well.

Definitely something to give a shot to if you are visiting the area ! Très bonne expérience de pêche avec Miguel, très patient et très professionnel ! This was a great experience! Miguel took us to great spots and was able to teach our group of first timers quickly. He was patient and was knowledgeable about the area. Will definitely recommend to anyone who is interested.

Miguel's Fishing Experience was magical: a beautiful, calming creek location; focused attention on casting the line and watching for a bite. Miguel is thoughtful, patient, and a good teacher. Overall it was a very satisfying experience.

Can’t recommend this experience enough. If you’re in the Austin area I highly recommend you meet Miguel and let him walk you down a very scenic river. Even if you don’t catch any fish this is a great experience.! However we did land a few fish so that made it better. Even my wife caught some and she has never fly fished before. Miguel is patient and was a great host. Would definitely do it again when in the area.

Miguel knows his stuff and (more importantly) knows how to communicate it to others. Also the money goes to a great cause (preserving the local environment). Highly recommend this experience!

10/10 - this was my first Airbnb experience and it will be very hard to top. Miguel is an awesome guide (and a super nice person) and we caught plenty of fish. The location is incredible and truly a hidden gem in Austin. Can’t say enough good things about it. Really an awesome experience.
