What you'll do

A guided hike through beautiful lake and mountain scenery, hosted by Pickles and Peanut, French Alpine goat brothers! Their "parents" come too, to ensure you are guided on the less-busy but still human-accessible trails.

On the two hour adventure we will:
- Meet at Grafton Lake parking area next to Grafton Road.
- Start with 10 minutes of intros and "Goat 101" to learn how to safely interact with Peanut and Pickles.
- Walk around the lake.
- Stop at viewpoints along the way, where we'll offer to take photos of you with the goats.
- End back where we started.

Private hike options include:
- Customized trail route such as up to the lookout in our main photo, or to cool natural tree forts!
- Special arrangements for a longer, more challenging hike to the summit of the iconic Mount Gardner.

A few considerations:
Families as well as dogs on leashes are welcome, but please note that Peanut and Pickles are still growing and learning, and their headbutt play behaviour may intimidate children and dogs.

You are welcome to request dates, but these will be considered "private hikes".

This adventure is "rain or shine"! The boys look adorable in their rain coats, so (pending a major storm) we'll enjoy whatever mother nature brings our way.

Finally, the boys love to meet people, and they can't wait to show you their beautiful backyard!

Where you'll be

Mount Gardner is the largest mountain on Bowen Island, and a very popular tourist destination. We will take you on a less-busy, "locals" route along the bottom of it that includes beautiful viewpoints along the way.

Grafton Lake is a new park area with a path that goes along the lake and connects to other trail networks (best to only access with a local guide).

Excellent experience! We were expecting 10cm of snow the day of the hike, and I wasn’t sure if I could do the hike without snowshoes and wasn’t sure about transportation to the hike either, so I sent Kristina a message before booking. She gave me a few options for transportation and even offered to lend me her snowshoes if I wanted. She was super helpful before the hike! Great conversation with both hosts and the goats during the hike. Will definitely come back again for this hike!

This was such an amazing experience! I had so much fun experiencing the Bowen Island scenery for the first time, especially with Peanut and Pickles in tow! Kristina and Adrian were very kind and accommodating for us. We came walking so it was a little difficult to figure out our way from the ferry to the location but Kristina set up a COVID safe drive with the other guests for us! Getting insight into Bowen island history and scenery from locals was the best way we could imagine experiencing this new place. The goats were so astoundingly cute I was in goat heaven! Thank you to Kristina, Adrian, Peanut, and Pickles for showing us such an amazing time!

This is such a cool experience! The walk around the park area is beautiful in and of itself. But then there's GOATS! Peanut and Pickles make the experience so much FUN! Even in the weather we went in (rainy with a good amount of snow on the ground) it was still an awesome trek!

What a unique and fun experience! it was raining and a bug snowfall had just happened the day before but that didn't dampen the experience at all. The goats were adorable and the hosts were so kind. It was great it was a small group, too. I hope to go back in the spring!

Our family really enjoyed the off the beaten track experience of hiking with Peanut and Pickles - the super friendly Alpine goats . It was a liesurely walk around the pristine lake with stories by Kristina . The tour is highly recommended.
