What you'll do

We meet on the iconic Royal Mile by the eminent Scottish thinker and drinker Adam Smith. It is then a short walk to one excellent whisky bar that we use. We have the entire upstairs area reserved for us, ensuring lots of space for the group. During the course of two hours we will sample four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. We will discus some of the history of Scotland and explore the reasons as to why whisky is now so ingrained as a staple of Scottish culture and we have some great tales from Scotland and the world of whisky to share with you.
Other things to note
This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. You must meet us at our start point at least 15min before the tour departs to secure your space.

People under the age of 18 are not permitted on this tour. This is due to licencing at the venue we use.

Whisky is the spirit of Scotland. Whisky is about the coming together of people, whether it be sharing a warming dram on a long winters night or celebrating with a wee dram at a wedding. Both Luca and I work as guides in Edinburgh and set up Little Fish Tours back in 2016. We are all about bringing people together and showing them not just the best sites of Edinburgh but also sharing a little in the culture of Scotland. What better way to immerse yourself in Scottish culture than to sit down with a local and share a whisky or four whilst listening to some great Scottish tales?

Where you'll be

Our regular venue is the enchanting Waverley Bar, something of an institution in Edinburgh and is famous within the folk music scene. The entire upper floor of the bar is reserved for us, giving us plenty of space and privacy for our story orientated evening. This is our usual space but particularly during peak seasons we have several back up venues. Regardless of the venue the most important part of this tour is sharing good whisky and stories.

I highly recommend this experience. Not only is Ben a great host and storyteller he's also a proper genuine chap...and he rescued my girlfriend's bobble hat! If we're in Edinburgh again we will be looking to go on any other tours from Ben and Luca : )

Went alone as my travelling buddy was working that eve. Hosted by lovely people and great fun regardless of if you're a big whiskey drinker or not.

Wow - what a super experience! We had a warm cozy space, outstanding journey through whiskey history, delicious whiskey! What more could you ask for? Note the price listed is just for the tour whiskey is extra. Well worth it!

We had a great time with Alisdair on the tour today. Excellent folklore: lots of interesting stories and great presentation, plus very generous drama. Lovely mixed group and enjoyed the setting and relationship with the whisky tasting and historical figures/authors mentioned.

Very enjoyable whiskey tasting. I don’t usually drink whiskey but the experience was set up that you were not in any rush to drink and you don not have to taste the whiskeys at all. Very enjoyable.

Really fun tour! The stories and atmosphere were perfect, and as someone who doesn’t drink whisky often the explanations were accessible and the whisky was good! Highly recommend especially for solo travelers.
