  2. Hosted in Italian and English

What you'll do

We will meet up near Parallel metro station and take the cable car up to Parc de Montjuïc station (the ticket is included in the tour price). Once there we will walk up to the top of the hill (175 meters above the sea level). During our tour we will see many beautiful panoramic gardens where you will have the possibility to take amazing pictures of the city.
The first garden we will visit is dedicated to a Catalan poet called Jacinto Verdaguer and characterized by the presence of an artificial lake and by the presence of terraces full of water lilies.
We will then walk up to another park dedicated to a Catalan artist called Joan Brossa. The park has a wilder vegetation as well as some installations dedicated to old times wireless means of communications.
The third park we will visit is called Jardins del Mirador. The place has a panoramic terrace from which is possible to take spectacular pictures of Barcelona and has a wonderful fountain disposed on different levels.
Our walk then will continue to the top of the hill where the Montjuïc castle is located. We will see the fortress from the outside and then walk to a panoramic spot called Mirador de Migdia.
On our way back we will enter a cactus garden called Jardins de Mossèn Costa I Llobera that is full of tropical vegetation.
We will then walk down the final part of the hill and reach the meeting point where we have met.

I have got some years of experience as a tour guide both in Norway and in Spain and since I came to Barcelona two and a half years ago, I instantly fell in love with the city.
For this reason I have started to explore the city and to make some videos that I post on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.

At this link you will find my videos:

Where you'll be

The lush nature of the parks will make you feel like you were very far away from the city center, even though the parks are actually located just few hundred meters from it.
The fortress of Montjuïc it's a very important place for Barcelona from a historical point of view, because a crucial battle was fought over there about three centuries ago. Since that battle, the Catalonian region lost its independence and went back to the Spanish control.
