We scheduled a walking tour to celebrate my wife's birthday. Tim's walking tour was very thoughtful and thorough. He added a perspective that I had not considered previously regarding Black Broadway impact on surrounding black business. I'd highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a thought-provoking tour of a quintessential DC neighborhood with a keen eye for both historical detail and the contemporary experiences of people who live there, this is the tour for you. The tour group we had was a mix of people from many different countries with limited experiences in the US and a limited knowledge of African American history, both in DC and in general. Tim was the perfect guide for such a group, encouraging questions and providing helpful perspective with a lot of patience and understanding. I have a new found appreciation for U St and for the city I call home, and encourage others like me who have lived in DC for awhile without learning more about the history of its neighborhoods. This is a great and fun way to learn!

Tim was a great guide and storyteller. He gave a very descriptive history about the musical influence in the Shaw neighborhood. I highly recommend it for its history and current vibes. In addition, there is plenty to do in the neighborhood in terms of food, shops, and entertainment. He was even kind enough to speak on my YouTube channel to inspire other travel companies.

This is a tour I’d like to take again. Not only was the history fascinating and new, the colorful murals and great music added another layer to this tour. Tim is knowledgeable and cares about this area. He also is conversational and comfortable with questions. I am so glad I took this walking tour.

Even my son who's a local learned quite a lot about his neighborhood. We topped it off with lunch at Ben's Chili Bowl and then visited the African American Civil War Museum, which Tim pointed out at a stop on the tour. His playlist completed the experience.

Tim is an articulate and thoughtful storytelling. You can practically see the history that he is describing. We learned so much from the tour and have already recommended it to several friends!
