What you'll do

We'll walk up to the Barcelona's Bunkers through a panoramic path. Along the way I will tell you about the Spanish Civil War and how Barcelona was the key city at that time. During our walk and once we are at the top of the hill you will have the opportunity to take amazing pictures of the whole city, since the hill has a unique 360 degrees view over Barcelona and its surroundings.

On our way back we will explore a beautiful terraced park characterized by the presence of the typical Mediterranean vegetation. There I will tell you about the story of Roque-Guinard, a local bandit from the XVII century that used to live in that area, and who was mentioned in the famous book Don Quijote written by Miguel de Cervantes.

Then we'll walk down the hill and reach a special garden realized with the aim of preserving biodiversity. After that, we'll walk to Hospital Sant Pau, that is one of the most important modernist monuments in Barcelona and a Unesco World Heritage site. Once there, we'll contemplate the complexity and the beauty of its facade from the outside.

Important information:

Please bring some water with you because we will walk for 2 hours and a half.

If you feel you need it, bring some food with you too.

Remember to wear comfortable shoes because we will walk on a countryside track.

The difference in height from the meeting point to the bunkers is about 200 meters.

I've been working as a professional tour guide since the year 2016 both in Spain and in Norway where I used to live.
Since I came to Barcelona three years ago, I instantly fell in love with the city.
I love Barcelona because it's a complete city. It has the sea, it's close to the mountains, it has a lot of monuments and history, it's beautiful and fascinating.
I really enjoy showing the city to tourists and I promote myself as a tour guide by Facebook, Instagram and Youtube under the name of Guess Barcelona Tours.

I also host another Airbnb experience called Barcelona's Panoramic Gardens that you can find at this link:

Gianni is a very friendly tour guide who had lot's of interesting stories and details about the surrounding buildings and places. We walked up a hill which was used for anti-aircraft battery during the Spanish Civil War, then was basically a favella in the 60s, and now a popular hang-out spot and a nature preservation park. What made this experience extra special. is that Gianni didn't cancel it even though I was the only one who signed up.

Totally worth it. I didn't know much about that area of the city and found it quite interesting, the whole history but also how the city is evolving currently. Gianni knows his history and will answer all of your questions. I especially liked the old site of Hospital Sant Pau, which is an amazing complex that I had never heard about. Will definitely book another tour with Gianni when I'm back in town!

The experience was very nice from the beginning... even the walk uphill was pleasantly disguised by the conversation with Gianni and my fellow participant. Nice company, nice views, nice narration of culture and myths. Grazie Gianni!
