Where you'll be

This place is an ancient Lycian city known as Karmilassos and later in time it became Levissi or Livissi. At 11th century inhabitants of the region had become christian. From 14th century to 20th they lived in harmony under Ottoman rule. With the rise of the nationalism, mutual conflicts started to accur and Levissi became a ghost town according to population exchange agreement between Turkish Republic and Greece in 1923.

This was a great way to see the abandoned town of Karakoy and hike a small portion of the Lycian road. Thank you Ozgur for a wonderful afternoon!
