Where you'll be

Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the greatest natural wonders of Europe. Embraced by high wooded mountains, one beneath another lie sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water.

Connected to each other by a series of foaming cascades and thundering waterfalls, the lakes are fed by many rivers and streams. Over the millennia, waters of these lakes have dissolved the limestone rock and carved out the valley in which they now lie.

Our driver, Franie was quite interesting. He told about the history of Croatia on the way to the park. He walked with us, offering his arm to my elderly friend, and then met us at the end of the hike with the van. He also gave us three options for restaurants and we all chose the one he suggested on the way back that had an excellent authentic Croatian menu. Overall the day was perfect, even in the rain.

The trip was just what we wanted: a small group with a guide that lead us to the main sights on a less strenuous route.

Frane provided a very nice introduction to the magical setting of Plitvice; he is clearly experienced in getting people around the park. Perhaps my only regret is that I couldn't spend a day or two more there instead of just a few hours—but, haha, that wouldn't be this Airbnb experience otherwise, which does an admirable job of whisking you up from Split and back (in time to catch a poliklinika for COVID testing before my flight, as it happens!). Seeing Plitvice was on my bucket list and this day trip did a great job of achieving that.

Lisa was an excellent guide. She knew a lot of information about the park and was extremely friendly. Highly recommend taking this tour.

I would recommend a private tour with Lisa to anyone headed to Plitvice Lakes. She knows the ins and outs and got us through the arrival process so much faster than those around us. She was very knowledgeable about the park during the tour, and had the van waiting for us after we finished.
