What you'll do

You begin your equine experience with a visit into our sizeable herd of 40 horses, where you will be able to approach and observe the horses in their natural environment, and learn interesting facts about them.

Next, each client will be matched with a horse according to their size and experience. You will lead your horse by foot to the stable, and will be able to establish mutual confidence through brushing and other preparations.

Once everyone is helmeted-up, we leave the stable for the paddocks. There, mounted and with stirrups adjusted, we give a short lesson on riding techniques. The enclosed paddock is the ideal place for each rider to test what they've learned about horseback riding.

After the initiation, we leave for an excursion on the magnificent mountain trails with their splendid view over the Appalachian range. At the halfway point, we will stop on the mountain top to take in the beautiful view. The activity ends by showing appreciation to our horse for the lovely ride.

At the end, we invite you to stay a while longer and take advantage of the surroundings and our picnic area, in the event that you packed a snack.

Consider trying our other animal experiences with alpacas, dogs and the other inhabitants of our educational farm.
Other things to note
This activity is offered throughout the year, in all weather.
Only children 14 years and over are accepted.
For younger children, reserve in our 'equestrian initiation' activity.
The trail ride happens principally at a walking pace, with some trotting if possible, but generally not galloping.

Both of us, Sandra and Jürg Willi, are passionate about horseback riding and experts in natural equine behaviour. Prior to immigrating to Canada, we founded and operated an equine centre in Switzerland, with 70 students per week.

Having followed numerous courses and seminars in Switzerland and Canada, we have the expertise necessary for offering an activity which is both interesting and safe.

The well-being of our horses is primordial for us! Our approach and our horseback riding techniques are 100% ethical and our horses live free range, which keeps them happy and well balanced. The horses work for short periods of time each day and are then replaced by other rested ones.

Our older horses have a guaranteed retirement with us and we are a certified Galahad shelter.

5/5 Excellent! The staff is extremely profesional, knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. We saw all of the farm animals, learned how to groom, prepare, and mount the horse, along with basic steering and stopping instructions. The tour guide gave small but impactful facts as we trotted with our horses in the beautiful woods. The ride was about 45-60 minutes and was so fun! I’d recommend it to anyone.

This experience was absolutely amazing! Best thing ever! Absolutely magical location, kindest people ever. All the animals were treated with love and so much care. We were welcomed so kindly, it was my husbands and mine first time going horse back riding and I was super nervous but only after a few minutes I felt so relaxed. 100% recommend this to anyone!

This was such an amazing experience. Jurg took such good care of us. The whole process of getting the horses ready, the trail ride and an amazing guide were so much more than we could have expected. The property is gorgeous, the trail has some great views and you can tell Sandra and Jurg love what they do and take great care of the animals under their care.
