Pottery Class In Artist's Studio

Warszawa, Poland

Experience hosted by Justyna

  1. 2 hours
  2. Hosted in English

What you'll do

Classes take around 2 hours and are designed for beginners.

During that time you’ll:
- learn how to wedge clay properly
- center it on the wheel
- get to know basic potter's tools,
- make your first simple cylindrical shapes (depending on your progress we can also try making small bowls - yay!)

In the meantime I'll also tell you a bit about the whole process of making stoneware ceramics so you'll know what happens next with the bowl you've just made!

All that while slowly sipping tea and relaxing by the wheel :)
Other things to note
If you wish I can fire and glaze your pots so they can be send back to you although you would need to cover the shipping cost to your country. We can discuss all the details on the day of the event.

Hi! I'm a potter and an owner of a small ceramic studio located in Warsaw. I wheel throw tableware for individual clients as well as restaurants and boutique hotels under my own brand "Lumo Ceramic". I got so immersed in my work that I started to miss teaching (used to do that a lot) and having contact with people (yep, I became a clay hermit of sorts ;). That's why I decided to open up my studio to anyone wiling to try out pottery (don't know if you've heard, but it's supposed to be the new yoga) and spread love for hand crafted objects. You just wait and see how satisfying it is!

Where you'll be

We'll be working in my ceramic studio which is located in an old shopping mall around 20-min tramway ride form the city centre. It's a well organised and clean space that I share with my sculptor friend so you might also meet her in passing during your visit.

Justyna is an excellent host, teacher and an artist. I had a great time, have learned a lot and made few things I can use at home. This is one of a kind place in Warsaw and Justyna makes you feel so welcome and taken care of. She is very patient and gives you not only the “how” but also why things are done certain way. I highly recommend this experience when you’re in Warsaw. If you are here with a quick visit she can send your pottery when done. You can also learn a lot about yourself while doing something very different from your daily job and routines. Thank you Justyna!! I’ll be visiting again to make another cup for my set :)

We had a great time! Jystyna is a very good instructor, and is very pleasant. He studio is perfect for the pottery class and all was well prepared. My daughter and I got into the pottery making quickly from zero knowledge, and thanks to Jystyna it was so memorable! Also it was fun to buy lovely items made by Jystyna. (You can pay with cash or card, or PayPal. Very convenient). We highly recommend this experience!
