Head to the hip urban village at West Seattle Junction to enjoy many small shops, restaurants, and bars giving West Seattle an eclectic & community vibe. The free #773 or #775 shuttle is just steps away from our house and this will take you directly to the water taxi station (water taxi station is 1.5 miles walk otherwise). The Water taxi is 10 minutes ride to downtown and cost is about $5 per person, each way. Shuttle and water taxi run on limited schedules during the Weekends & Winter, sometimes not even in service so please inquire and check their website before booking if that's important planning of your trip. You can also rent these new but reliable city bikes that are left around. Just download the app (SPIN or LIME Bikes) and find out where the nearest available bike is, then leave it in any spot once done. Rate is about $1 per 30 minutes.- very economical and practical way to explore and get around our beach neighborhood :) Uber, Lyft, Car2Go are also viable options. ReachNow is also available with SmartCars, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzs and Mini Coopers. ReachNow is a one and two-way rental car solution that can be parked and left at our house. Approximate cost is $0.41 a minute. Traffic can get pretty heavy on the West Seattle Bridge if you're getting onto the I5- BUT one of the best parts about living here in West Seattle is the the "hidden" routes and surface streets you can take to avoid the traffic jam on the WS bridge. Parking downtown Seattle is always free on Sundays and Holidays. Otherwise, parking ranges from $2-5/hour and about $20 per day for parking garages. -There are 9 steps with no hand railing to get up to our studio entrance. Please keep this in mind for late night arrival and suitcases. The auto light sensor will come on at night to aid in the night time arrivals. -We live in a very hilly area where certain parts are steep. It is definitely manageable, but not recommended for elderly or people with slight disabilities. -We do not have a washer or dryer in unit. -No Air Conditioning Unit. -We have radiant in-floor heating and it will take a couple hours for the heat to rise to your desired temperature. -We do not have a full Kitchen. No Stove/cooktop. PHOTO SHOOTS OR FILMING* *The studio does rent for photo shoots and filming but this is NOT included in the vacation rental fee. Photo/Film shoots are a different price structure, and require acceptance of filming contract. Failure to obtain written authorization will result in full forfeiture of the Fees and Security Deposit.

Detached Private Guest Cottage in Sought-After Neighborhood

This is a detached, completely private studio cottage. From the studs out remodel completed in 2014. It has a full travertine bathroom, washer dryer, full size kitchen appliances, miles of granite counter, work space, eating area, built in storage in closet, vaulted ceilings, queen bed. Free internet of course and Direct TV. Top of Queen Anne hill. Within half a block there is casual dining, Macrina Bakery, Bustle, Taco Shop, Targy’s Bar. Dry cleaning and Ken’s Market full grocery store also a half a block away. Full sized appliances, dishes, cookware, coffee pot, blender, and spices. Private outdoor courtyard with BBQ, eating and lounging areas. Private entrance to yard from off street alley parking for 1 car. Additional parking on street. We will be happy to provide anything you need as far as special requests prior to your arrival and if you want special places to go we do have vast knowledge of everything fun to do!!! 6 blocks walk to Queen Anne Ave for all the shops, fine dining and nightlife. ½ mile walk to Kerry Park for the best view of Seattle in town. 1 ½ miles to lower Queen Anne and Seattle Center. Less than 3 miles to downtown and Pike Place Market. We are minutes from some of Seattle's best dining. My personal favorite restaurants within a five minute walk are: How to Cook a Wolf and Lloyd Martin. Groceries: Ken’s Market is on the corner but Safeway and Trader Joes are within a few blocks. Transportation: The #2 bus stop to Seattle Center and downtown core is on the corner, other bus lines are within a 3 block walk. There is a ZipCar at the 7-11 on Queen Anne Ave. There are usually Car2Go cars nearby. This is not only one of Seattle's more desirable and sought after neighborhoods we are also one of the safest neighborhoods. Walk six blocks to Queen Anne Ave for plentiful shops, fine dining, and nightlife. A little closer, Kerry Park has the best view of Seattle. Also not far away are lower Queen Anne and Seattle Center, as well as downtown and Pike Place Market.

Charming Secluded Guest Suite near Woodland Park

This secluded and very quiet, 370 sq ft in home apartment, space is nestled in the trees with a territorial view to the southwest. If you have an appreciation for hand crafted details this is the place for you: hand made windows, a bed frame made from salvaged fir bleacher seats, owner designed light fixtures, and traditionally crafted woodworking details throughout. The Chestnut stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter with its heated concrete floors. Open all twelve windows south and west and you might think you’re in a treehouse. This space is thoughtfully designed as a restful retreat after a long day of exploring or hectic day of business travel. If you like to cook, the kitchen is complete with a gas range, a full size electric oven, microwave, under counter refrigerator/ freezer, farm style sink, and all the needed utensils. The Chestnut has its own secure entrance and private patio. It is accessible by stairs only. I am here and happy to help. Perched on the hilltop above the historic business district, the Chestnut provides easy access to Fremont neighborhood and many delicious restaurants and local shops. Look for the many public art pieces nearby or walk along the gorgeous ship canal. There are plenty of food options within walking distance and a number of buses that will easily take you downtown, east to the University district, west to Ballard, and north to greater North Seattle.
